The mission of Person to Person, Norwalk (P2P) is to provide emergency assistance for basic needs to support individuals and families in Lower Fairfield County as they move towards greater stability. Over the years, services have been refined to advance the agency’s vision of communities of financially-stable, hunger-free homes, with educational opportunities for all. P2P services will touch the lives of nearly 25,000 individuals, including 10,000 children, with more than a third of who are residents of Norwalk. Programs: There are a wide variety of programs including: food pantry, distribution of furniture donations, new mattress program, camp opportunities for client children, holiday toy store, scholarship program, and emergency assistance. WCC involvement: We provide support both through financial contributions and “hands on” opportunities for the congregation. This includes the annual coat drive, including collection, sorting, mending, and bagging, and with food drives. We also have our “Gift of Christmas” catalog, where members of the congregation purchase gifts for our mission partners, by selecting from a catalog, filling out a gift form, and making a donation. The donor receives an ornament and a tag identifying the purchased gift.
