We are looking for adult or youth leaders for SUMMER STAGE, our summer Sunday children’s program, offered on Sunday mornings throughout the summer. No acting or directing experience is necessary. Imaginations will be flying and fun will be had by all! Complete instructions will be provided.
Leaders are still needed for August 10, 17, 24 and 31. Please call (762-5591 x11) or email Nancy Milnamow if you have questions or want to volunteer. Please note - No program will be offered during July due to building renovations.
Classes are offered for pre-K through 12th grade Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM from early September through early June. Children attend the first portion of the worship service in the sanctuary with their families and are dismissed to classes following the children's sermon. The Church School uses a Bible-based curriculum, with a focus on Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments, with age appropriate activities demonstrating the relevance of the teachings to children's experience.
Children's Offering
We believe it to be important that our children learn there are several ways to serve God, through their time, talent, and treasure. We invite our children to give of their time in worship; we invite them to share their talents through music and mission; and we invite our children to learn to share of their treasure. To that end, boxes of offering envelopes are given to all the church school children through grade 5. On Communion Sundays, the offering will be taken at Children's Chapel. On other Sundays, an usher will be standing at the door to the corridor with a basket in which the children's envelopes are to be placed as they leave the sanctuary for classes. As a point of information, note that this year it will cost the church $143 per child for the materials needed for the child's Christian education.
Loving care is provided each Sunday for all infants and toddlers..
THE PERFECT GIFT FOR FATHER’S DAY - TOOLS OF HOPE
Honor your father with a donation of Tools of Hope through Church World Service. For $5, you will receive a card to give to your father and tools of hope will be sent to someone in need. Cards may be purchased in Pilgrim Hall until June 15th after worship. Any checks should be made out to the Wilton Congregational Church, noting “Tools” on the memo line.
The Tools of Hope program is a Church World Service outreach ministry based on the simple truth that basic tools make a difference to people in developing countries.
Just as your father knew the right tool for the job, the tools provided will give eager hands and minds the right tools to get the job done!
